2M Update:

Language Arts: List 10 practice/wonderful words/spelling test/Calendar

Snow Globe Writing - we are just starting to finish our narratives.
No spelling words this week as it is a short week.

Math: Numbers review/Numbers test - please sign and return if not already.

Numbers part 2 - addition and subtraction up to 18

Science: Magnetism

Teachers Pet Presentation - students took home their own magnet dog park.

Social: Looking at weather and bodies of water in Meteghan, Iqaluit and Saskatoon.

Social quiz - Thursday, Jan 24th - see study sheets that went home Friday. Test is fill in the blank and multiple choice.

Health: Looking at our heart/blood - heart-rate when we exercise.

Religion: Parts of the mass.

Art: Finished Snow Angel Art and Snow Globe Art.

Gym: Learning Winter Dance

***We had a special visit from some members of the Stampeders and the Grey Cup.***

Upcoming:

Jan 21st: New lunch time procedures - Division one will now eat first then go outside(div 2 will go outside first then eat second).

Jan 23rd: Return home reading.

Jan 24th: Library

Jan 25th: PD Day - No School.

Language Arts:

*No more spelling tests!
We will be practicing words from list 30 and 31 in the last 2 weeks at school but there will be no spelling test.

List 30 & 31(Y to I in past tense and ed words that sound like T)

***Monday, June 26th - Pirate Day - students can dress up as a pirate/reading stories to grade 1 and kindergarten/pirate centres(am)/pirate movie(pm)***

* Students are welcome to bring in a healthy snack to share with class if they want for the movie.
Math: Geometry - 2D and 3D shaped
Science; Butterfly life cycle/what is an insect
We released our butterflies in the butterfly garden!
***Science presentation on bird adaptations.***

Social: Cochrane and the past present and future/Fort Calgary field trip.

Religion: Learning about our blessings.
Gym: Outside games/baseball/soccer.
Art: Father's Day gift/pencil holder

Discovering about small flying and crawling animals - insects/caterpillars
Caterpillars are about 2 weeks old - they are hanging upside down in a J position. They will start to shed their skin and make a chrysalis. They are 2 inches long and very hairy.
